MEAL PLANS & FLEXDINE

You’ve got enough to worry about: classes, studying, work and extracurricular activities. You shouldn’t have to stress about eating too. Having a meal plan lets you grab a meal with friends, when you want it and where you want it. We have a variety of meal plans to fit your schedule.

Meal plans fit the way you live. You get easy access to great food when you use a meal plan. A magnetic strip on the back of your U Card works with our computer system to identify you as a meal plan holder.

Meal plan holders have two dining options: meals at the Residential Restaurants or FlexDine. Both save time and money. Your meal plan can be used in any of our six residential restaurants (located in Bailey, Centennial, Comstock, Middlebrook and Sanford Halls). FlexDine is accepted in our campus food courts, coffee shops and convenience stores. 

FlexDine can be purchased in increments of $25 and rolls forward from one academic semester to the next so long as the customer is enrolled at the University of Minnesota. FlexDine dollars expire after one year of inactivity on the account.

Once you have a meal plan, your U Card works like a debit card. Simply swipe your card and the meal, or FlexDine, is deducted from your account automatically.

Our dining locations offer a variety of options including traditional America cuisine, ethnic dishes, and popular national brands such as Einstein Bros. Bagels, Starbucks, Panda Express and Jamba Juice. University Dining Services also offers healthy options including low-fat, organic, vegetarian, vegan, and soy foods and beverages.
